About Investailor
Investailor is a stock research tool that reads SEC filings, 13F holdings and Form 4 insider trades, and traces every figure it shows to the document it came from.
What it is
A research desk for public companies, built on the documents companies and investors are required to file rather than on news, sentiment or forecasts. Every figure on a page can be followed back to the filing it was read from, and where a figure is not in the filings the page says so instead of estimating one.
- Financial statements year by year, as filed, and the changes between two annual reports.
- Fund managers: what the best known of them reported holding each quarter, and what they paid.
- Insiders: which officers bought their own company’s stock on the open market.
- ETFs: what a fund actually holds, looked through to the companies underneath.
- The economy: inflation, jobs and the policy rate those positions sit in.
- An assistant that answers questions about the page you are on, from those same documents.
Where the data comes from
- SEC EDGAR for company financials (annual and quarterly statements), risk factors, Form 4 insider transactions and quarterly 13F holdings reports.
- Official statistical releases for inflation, employment, the policy rate and the Federal Reserve’s own projections.
- A market data vendor for prices and price history, which may be delayed.
- Fund issuers for ETF holdings, as they publish them.
What it will not do
- No news feed.
- No sentiment scores.
- No price predictions or ratings.
- Nothing taken from the open internet.
