Terms of service
Last updated 10 August 2026
These terms govern your use of Investailor. By creating an account you agree to them.
What Investailor is
Investailor is a subscription tool for looking at public company filings, tracking a portfolio, and testing your own assumptions about what a business might be worth. It is not investment advice: see the disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
Your account
You need an account to use the service. Keep access to your email secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us at support@investailor.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
One account is for one person. We may suspend or close an account that is shared, used to scrape the service, or used to break these terms or the law.
Who you are buying from
Subscriptions are sold by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as the merchant of record, the authorised reseller of Investailor’s software. In practice that means:
- Your purchase contract for the subscription is with Paddle, not with us, and Paddle’s buyer terms apply to it alongside these terms.
- Paddle takes the payment, issues the invoice or receipt, and appears on your card or bank statement. It is not a sign your card was used by someone else.
- Paddle calculates and remits any VAT, GST or sales tax. Whether tax is added, and at what rate, depends on where you are.
- Paddle handles refunds and chargebacks. Our refunds policy is what we ask Paddle to apply.
Everything else (your account, your data, and the service itself) is between you and us, and is governed by these terms.
Plans, billing and automatic renewal
There is a free plan that does not expire. Paid plans are billed in advance:
- Basic: $9 per month
- Expert: $18 per month, after a 7-day free trial
Paid plans renew automatically. Each subscription continues, and your payment method is charged the same amount for each new period, until you cancel. The renewal date and the exact amount are shown before you pay and again on your billing settings page. Where a plan begins with a free trial, the first charge is taken when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
Taxes are handled by Paddle and may be added or included depending on where you are: the exact total is shown before you pay. If we change a price, we will tell you before the change takes effect, and the new price applies to periods beginning after that.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, online, from your billing settings, in no more steps than it took to subscribe. There is no phone call, no email required, and no retention process to sit through. Cancelling there instructs Paddle to stop the renewal; you do not need to contact Paddle yourself.
Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then move to the free plan. Your data is not deleted: see cancellations and refunds.
Refunds
Set out in full on the cancellations and refunds page, which forms part of these terms. Nothing there affects rights you have under consumer law where you live, including any statutory right to withdraw from a purchase.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- resell, redistribute, or republish market data obtained through the service;
- scrape it, or access it other than through the interface we provide;
- attempt to defeat a plan limit, or share credentials to avoid paying for one;
- probe, load-test, or interfere with the service or anyone else’s use of it.
Your content
Your holdings, notes and questions remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service for you: to store that data, and to send the relevant parts to the processors listed in the privacy policy so a feature can work.
Third-party data
Some data is licensed from third parties and provided subject to their terms. We may have to change or remove a data source if a licence changes.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn. If we materially reduce what a paid plan includes, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of the period you have paid for.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, timely, accurate, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Investailor is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost opportunity, or investment losses, arising out of or relating to your use of the service, even if we have been advised such damages are possible.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. Where that is so, the exclusions and limitations above apply only to the extent permitted, and nothing here removes a right you cannot waive.
Ending the agreement
You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service, in which case we will refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will give notice before it takes effect: by email, or in the product. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
